2017 is about to pass us by, and it amazes me to see how time flies. Not long ago, Joseph and I were still thinking of a brand name, its colours, and how we were gonna say hello to the world. When we decided that Kickstarter was going to be best way, everything happened so quickly because we were in such a rush. Fast forward and we’re here, with 2017 coming to a close, and just 6 days before our campaign ends.
Obviously, I can’t say how it feels like for any other creator when he or she launches a product, or a brand, but for Joe and I, it’s meant a great deal. In all honesty, we had no idea what to expect when we embarked on this journey. We didn’t know that it was going to work, whether people were going to approve of the idea and whether we were going to do well. We had no answers, and the only thing that kept us going was the fact that both of us wanted a product like this to exist - our dream was to create a line of functional, quality leather products that would help with the organisation of everyday essentials and make everyone’s lives easier.
Faire Leather Co. is about offering value to the consumer, where our customers will always feel pleasantly surprised when they receive our products because we pack in so much value at a modest price. It’s also extremely personal, in that we want to be seen as approachable people this is why we pay so much attention for everything from our packaging to the way we communicate.
As you guys already know, 2017 saw the launch of our Kickstarter campaign, it also saw the launch of our brand and our website. With everyone’s support we managed to be funded in 48 hours, and at point of writing, raised over $328,000 which equates to 943 backers. I don’t exactly know how else to express my thanks except to say that we will continue to build our brand and make more products that will serve you well. The support we’ve received means that we’ll be able to hire more people and expand the team. We’ll be looking for people who are creative, vocal, and willing to be part of an environment that will only grow to be better. We’ll recognise that anyone that works with us can be as good as they want to be and that we’re always open to suggestions across the board.
A lot of people have asked why I decided on my role as Chief Brand Officer, since it’s not
commonly heard of. The reason is because I’d like to place a strong emphasis on Faire Leather Co. as a brand, not just how it’s perceived by consumers, but also how our staff will embrace it. When 2018 greets us, our team will look to feed you more content, organise more trade faires and take greater strides to engage with you so we’re able to build our next big product. We’ll also look at more collaborations, campaigns and extending the Specter collection.
Joe and I look forward to the next year, and we can’t wait to share more pieces of functional luxury with everyone. Till then, happy holidays.
